slip'n'ride

There are plans emerging that this sunday a ride out to the waterslides at funfields be made.

I know that there has been some interest from the sugar spokes ladies... and the weather report is currently showing highs of 25C.

UPDATE: plan is to meet @ the museum at 8:30 for a rollout by 8:40. breakfast/coffee @ north island on scotchmer then head up to meet those people who are catching the 9:58 Epping train from flinders st. They will be @ Epping @ 10:40 (and will avoid most of the hills/cut the ride in half).

We should be there by 11:30-12. If you want to catch up with us along the way send me a txt (if you have my number, if not get it from someone) to locate us, but we will be riding up st george rd, then onto high st, then following plenty rd out to whittlesea (with a quick detour to Epping station).

a few hours enjoying the various slides, go karts and other attractions and then back into the city in time for beers/dinner.

bring your boardies, towel and some snacks (to give me ;])

anyone interested?

Silly season.

We had an end of year cranky bbq/nik cee's birthday soiree. Good times where had by all, well almost all of us. Chaz tore a tendon/ligament in his knee! We had an onion fight, HA! and he did the splits whilst trying to avoid/catch a huge onion heading straight for his head!

Oh yeah..and i just happened to whip skid into chaz and did a wee bit of damage to me real wheel...gutted as bro!

Super fun day though and a great way to begin the BBQ season!!!

Fa'afafine

Fa'afafine is a third gender specific to Samoan culture.

Fa'afafine are biologically men who in childhood choose by their nature to be raised to assume female gender roles, which is not discouraged in the traditional fa'asamoa (Samoan society). The word fa'afafine includes the causative prefix "fa'a", meaning "in the manner of", and the word "fafine", meaning "woman"; and it is cognate with other Polynesian languages like the Tongan "fakafefine" or "fakaleiti", the Maori "whakawahine" or "akava'ine" in Cook Islands Maori, and the Hawaiian "mahu". Samoan slang mala or gay for fa'afafine is in less use being an abject derivation from the Samoan bible.

Favourite has to be Nik and no, hes not acting!

CRANKY BBQ 20/12/09

All heads,End of year BBQ and Beers, same place as andys bike bbq last year + sugar spokes/cranky mix up,on the yarra in richmond,we can buy all our shit nearby, meet up heist @12 ......Go from there...

Cranky? Natural Progression or the end of Cranky as we knew it?

The beauty of Cranky, even through it's many transitions and transformations is the communal ride. Whether we ride to Franga or just down to the Museum. There has always been a ride involved. In a recent turn, Cranky has become just another Spoke Card in the Melbourne Fixed Gear Scene. Don't get me wrong, it has been awesome to be a part of this growing culture. The opportunity to compete in the odd Alley Cat, Roller Race or hit the Track has opened doors for many of the "Cranky Crew". But I'd just like to ask.. When did Cranky become just a meeting point? What happened to the Cranky Ride? Does every weekend need to be a competition? And most importantly, Is this the end of Cranky?

Turn it way the fuck up.

it hurts my ears

seriously... i can't even listen to this in blocks of more than a minute without cringing. i'd love to fast forward 3 years and see where quitting skating (and its pay cheques) have taken him. can he actually be making money with this?

the vocoder/autotune, the horrendously bad rhymes, the horrible posturing... its not even so bad its good...

feel free to disagree, but let me know why.
